Park Ave. Cement Block Company, the largest producer of concrete masonry units in the State of Rhode Island, was founded in 1920 and has been prominent in the block producing business for over 80 years. Park Ave. was incorporated in the mid 1940’s and has grown steadily from a small antiquated block operation to become the largest single block producer in Rhode Island.

Park Ave.’s growth in the block producing business can be attributed to primarily four categories: Expanded Facilities, Equipment, Delivery Service and Products. The first of the company’s assets is the modern and efficient block producing plant located at 30 Budlong Road in Cranston, Rhode Island. Park Ave. has two block machines which annually enable it to produce in excess of three million block. The company maintains over 20 acres of paved storage area plus an additional acre of covered storage area (the largest covered storage area in southeastern New England) with additional unused land still available for future development.

Secondly, Park Ave.’s modern and highly automated block equipment, namely two Besser Block Machines on line with automated loaders and unloaders, gives the company the additional benefit of a higher yearly production, as well as eliminating the wasted manpower of handling the blocks.

The third of Park Ave.’s assets is the delivery services it can render the customer. The company presently owns five Side-O-Matic boom trucks capable of carrying 10 4’x4’ pallets or 28 west pallets of block. Park Ave.’s reliable delivery service ensures prompt and efficient delivery to jobsites throughout Rhode Island and bordering states.

Lastly, Park Ave.’s products are its biggest asset. From the inception of the business to the present day, the company has always operated on the premise of customer satisfaction, and in so doing, the company maintains that if it does not produce a block needed by the customer, then it will make efforts to produce this particular block to the specifications required. Park Ave. produces NORMALWEIGHT, MEDIUMWEIGHT & LIGHTWEIGHT concrete masonry units, and the company’s diversification both in aggregate requirement and the variation of blocks it produces has enabled it to leap forward in the concrete masonry field, keeping well abreast of the growing market.
